Ground Marjoram
Ground Marjoram also called Sweet Marjoram herb of the mint family. Its fresh or dried leaves and flowering tops, used to flavor many foods. Its taste is warm, aromatic, slightly sharp, and somewhat bitter. Marjoram leaves are particularly lend taste to sausages, meats, poultry, stuffings, fish, stews, eggs, vegetables, and salads.
It is native to the Mediterranean region and western Asia. Marjoram is also cultivated as an annual in northerly climates where winter temperatures kill the plant. Various other aromatic herbs or under shrubs of the Lamiaceae family are marjoram. Wild marjoram, is a perennial herb native to Europe and Asia. Is commonly found in dry copses and on hedge banks in England and has been naturalized in the United States.
